lullabye to little you……

DSC00146editededited

Rest sweet child,  let me brush away
some worry from your soul
and lullaby some healing peace over questions that you hold
cause the way ahead is a long, long road
and you’re gonna try and carry more than your own load;
and everywhere you go, child,  there you’ll be

The way you do,
how much you share,
what lights you up,
how hard you care,
the stuff you feel and say and try
your fit,  your dreams,  your reasons why…

it’s not gonna all go perfectly….not even tidy and smooth
there’ll be some shaking times when you’re gonna want and  lose,
you’ll feel other’s pain –  break your heart open wide,
and your own pain will even level you at times
there’ll be mess and mud and hurt and hard
and it’s not up to you to put it all right

It’s life,  baby,  keep the spark alive  in your bright eyes.
There is beauty here,  and grace…..look and you will find it.
You can’t change other people – be brave enough to see,
surrender,  keep your peace and let the struggle be
Put your hand on your heart  –  right there be true.
Let your love flow out to your own self,  too.

Codependents are some of the most loving, generous, good-hearted and concerned people
I know.  We’ve just allowed ourselves to be tricked into doing things that hurt us,
and we’re going to learn how to stop doing those things.  But those tricks are our problems;
they are not us.  If we have one character defect that is abhorrent,  it is the way
we hate and pick on ourselves.  That is simply not acceptable any longer.
We can stop picking on ourselves for picking on ourselves.
This habit is not our fault either,  but it is our responsibility to learn
to stop doing it.”
-Melody Beattie

-I hope speaking in rhyme isn’t like crossing your eyes…..that you can’t get stuck that way:)
Anyway,  thanks for coming around;
Digging up a daily post this month
is working some freedom in me.

    Thank you so much for this series. You have been not only speaking to me – but speaking for me, with more eloquence than I can muster.

    That picture sure does lift the load helping me know I can carry it when I must. The rhyme helped too!

    I love the way you message brings hopeful healing peace for the weary souls who are taking on more than they can bear. The first step is always the hardest to take but once you’re on the right path, just keep going.
    Hugs,

    I love this. I’m thinking to some of your past posts. This resonates with those in so many ways.

    Sending hugs and love. – jeanie
