hugging the brave of me….
Would you like to have a sit with me?
Maybe just take in slow the sky,
and let the silence fall around us soft
while we keep the quiet together.
No need for words.
No room for rush,
breathing in the fresh sweet hum of grace;
breathing out the stuff of heavy hearts
into the strong and steady hands
of light,
light that loves us like a song.
Let’s just be still
and surrender to the sound.
Thanks for that.
I’ve been tired,
the kind of tired that comes from doing something scary,
still kinda shaking in my boots
and grinning that I stared it down,
the intimidation that comes
from un-pleasing people.
It’s a good kind of tired,
like when you break up hard ground
till it’s ready to plant.
My plow tip feels a little bent
so I’m resting deep inside
and hugging the brave of me.
I think we’re both a little braver than we think.
“Another Monday comes and I just wanna breathe
’cause it’s a long, long week for someone
wired to please.
I keep taking my aim, pushing it higher.
Wanna shine bright, even brighter now
Wish I would tell myself
Don’t try so hard……”
-Amy Grant and James Taylor
Thanks for visiting Jennifer, as always I cherish your visits and your words.
I’m just sitting quietly with you and savouring the quietness and beauty of your flowers while I wait for my wine to age.
hugs,
JB..

It sounds like a wonderful kind of tired, when the deep, relaxing breaths bring a slow smile to your face. I’m happy to be sitting close beside you.
Good on you for being brave and Honest! rest now and enjoy those beautiful flowers.
I would LOVE to sit with you, and savour the scents, the sounds, the sights around us. And yes, be gentler on yourself. As gentle and supportive to yourself as you are to others.

And you got me with this:
“…breathing out the stuff of heavy hearts
into the strong and steady hands
of light,
light that loves us like a song.”
My heart sang out when I read those words because I recognize that light as truth and love. Thank you for these amazing words today, Jennifer!
Just on time! I need a break too… standing still, enjoy the weather, animal cuddles and a good book – no to do lists! Thanks for sharing this reminder Jenny. 🙂

Sitting with you soaking in the silent beauty.
Hugs to you my friend during this time….
Yes. I would love to sit with you and bask in beauty and silence. After, we could talk about breaking ground.
I appreciate the breather! I have been pushing myself so hard and am tired too, so the little rest here was exactly what I needed.

Someone needs to set your words to music. So beautiful! I loved sitting with you. I needed it, too.
Your words and photos permeate such a feeling of peace Jennifer. Hooray for you for staring fear in the face and taking steps.
The hardest and bravest thing is honesty with ourselves and others…it shows love! Take that time to rest and just be…draw inward and nourish that brave loving side.

I would love to sit with you and slow down some too! Just to look at all the beautiful flowers would be relaxing except for this humidity! It was cooler in the mountains but the rain was drenching over half the time we were there and flooding all the small streams. We did get a few hours of sun to trim up the Christmas tree!
Thanks for the beautiful pictures and heartfelt words!
Love to you
Sitting with you, breathing in sweet grace, breathing out the heavy heart…believing we are braver than we think…believing…believing…believing…we are loved…we are held!!!
Believing in you too brave one!
a heavenly place to rest a moment….
Scary is exhausting. Facing it down is all the more so. I’m happy to sit and rest with you in your brave, beautiful world. I admire that bravery so much.
How refreshing to “breathe in the fresh sweet hum of grace” and thank the One who gives it. This was perfect for me today, Jennifer. Thanks.
