the days were golden…

just this,  dear friend,
from my heart to yours.

the words didn’t find me this week
but I wanted to paint you joy

and to share the way
the last of the zinnias hold the sun
soft and close
showing us how
to soak it in
for the cold,  gray days to come

and just look at all this gold
~see how rich we are?

~and brave,
we’re braver than we know.

October has pounded on me hard
so  I’m few of words
but richer  in love
and braver than before.

“Love is vivid.  I never wanted the pale version.
Love is full strength.  I never wanted the diluted version.
I never shied away from love’s hugeness
but I had no idea that love could be as reliable as the sun.”

Jennifer, it looks like the words found you after all, condensed and intensified. I love the secret your zinnias shared, your lavish color. Courage.

    Hi Jennifer,
Sorry that October was crushing for you but I’m glad that you can find Joy to share with your friends through your paintings.
Sometimes you have to let the beauty of nature and the bristles of the brush do the talking for you and you do it so beautifully.
I love those golden rich colors of the leaves, so beautiful.
You are right, we are rich and blessed.
    Have a beautiful week.
    Hugs.

i am often without words, too…..it’s not so bad especially when we have photos to fill the void !!

The fewer the words, the more apt I am to visit a blog. I have a slow computer so each visit is a labor of love. When I have to wade through many words, I get discouraged. I love your photos, especially the maple leaves.

ohh…seeing that photo of the gold leaves makes me miss Wisconsin…walking in them, piling them up to jump into…you brought me much joy in the memories…thanks!!

Oh those trees, those trees!!! Our color here in SW Missoui is beautiful, but muted. We were so delighted on our trip to Illinois with all the vibrant reds and yellows. Heaven.

We are sooo rich. Fall is my favorite time of year and I feel pulled into that time as soon as I see your golden leaves. It wasn’t so long ago and, yet, in some ways, it feels like it was forever ago…
