Hello gorgeous!

spring
A riot of rowdy rudbeckia cheer wildly
outside my front door,
 their rambunctious celebration
welcoming newborn summer
with her ripe peaches
and gardenia blossoms
and bare toes on grass
and pale green tomatoes swelling on the vine.
spring
….and the idea of summer reading
(the memory of long easy hours reading for pleasure
still kisses the cheeks of my expectations
and I get all swimmy with the whole delicious idea,
even though my life giggles at the notion

that I may just find the time).

spring
and I grin with gratitude
over clear blue water
smelling of chlorine,
soothing showers and moving air
on cool, clean skin,
the way the hours stretch out
like muscles as they warm,
spring
and the chance to once again
feel the soft breath
of  a summer night
on my face
and listen
to the stars whsiper
“go ahead…..take your time
….Love will leave the light on.”
and I throw myself headlong
into the arms of loving kindness
spring
and laugh out my thanks for another sweet summertime:)
(hello gorgeous!)

I am with you friend….summer has always been special for me because of the long lazy days with less structure and more freedom to explore the beauty of both nature and friends……

I love your opening, Hello Gorgeous, they truly are and your shots show them in all their glory……my first impression when I was reading your post was that I was getting a glimpse of you with all your splenda both insdie and out……

I hope you have a weekend full of laughter…..

oh Jen, these are my favorite flowers ever!!
i have wanted spreads of these around my home. i seem to begin to wilt in the summer heat these days. i have a vision of what i would like in my yard, but i am afraid it dies there…can't get out and make it happen.

how you manage to have me both yearning and feeling fulfilled at the same time is a gift. An ability to bare the soul with words that both explore the heartaches and find peace. Into the manuscript it goes. Love the pictures of all that glorious colour too 🙂

Jennifer, your rudbeckias are gorgeous and way ahead of mine. They make your place look so happy and welcoming. I love your poetry. I think that poetry is the sweet nectar of the soul. JB

I LOVE Black-eyed Susans!!! I planted some a few years ago and they only grew and bloomed for one year. I have no idea what happened since I thought they were one of the most tolerant year to year bloomers around. I planted a new Black-eyed Susan plant just this morning. I cannot wait to see those welcoming bright little ladies blooming in my yard again. Any tips for me on their care Jen, or do you have any idea why they might not have lasted more than one year before? I planted them from seed the first year and the one I planted today is already a growing plant start.

Oh and I love the cheery flower photos that you are sharing with us. They and Y♥U make me smile very big like! ♥

    Hugs,
    Lee Ann
